One of the few shrub-form Hoyas. Stiff angular branches hold leaves that are reminiscent of several of the subtropical Jasminums. Flower umbels, when produced from the leaf axils, are clearly those of a hoya, white and very fragrant (as indicated by the specific name). Once a flowering bud forms in the axil, it will continue to produce umbels on at least a yearly basis.

New leaves are oddly colored, sort of an amber-brown speckled with chartreuse, and they are often twisted with somewhat undulate edges. In no time, though, the leaves transition to flat-edged deep green and shining beauties. An easy houseplant, and perhaps a good small shrub for a shaded dooryard in the subtropical southwest (z 9a and above).
