I've had this plant for over 10 years and it continues to perform well for me. The color changes throughout the seasons but not always at the same time each year. The color is reddest at anthesis, the point when the plant is ready to flower. In my 9a climate the plant stays outside year round with a cover tossed over it only when the temp goes below 40.
