Plant red valerian in a perennial border. It is especially valuable for poor, dry locations that will not support other plants. The blossoms are excellent for cutting and add a delightful scent to a bouquet. Blooming May continue until frost.

I notice that red Valerian is deer resistant. Do any of the Australian members have experience with it being nonpalatable to kangaroos, or any other plant besides Rosemary that they dislike?
