Some large, diverse, conventional nurseries sell some of this "Whitebud." I see it infrequently in some scattered locations in landscapes. Most people want the regular Redbud. Plants sold in nurseries are the cultivar of 'Alba' in that they are propagated asexually. A few Whitebuds do very infrequently show up in the wild, and if they cross with another Whitebud, they can come true to seed and be a natural variety, as C. canadensis alba. However, If they cross with the regular Redbud, which is much more common, the seedlings will bear the typical purple-pink flowers.
