    A very nice perennial plant for fall color, it can hold its own in a wildflower area competing with some aggressive grass.
    I have had great success winter sowing this plant.

    Helenium autumnale is a larval host plant for the Dainty Sulphur Butterfly. It is a nectar source for Monarchs and other butterflies, and a Monarch Way Station plant.

    According to the NPIN, Helenium autumnale has special value to native bees.

After a slow start, these plants took off. Seem to grow best staying moist. Transplanted in peach tree garden, full sun.
