This plant takes forever to show itself in the spring. In my area (zone 5) it dies back 100% to the ground. It emerges in mid-late June and starts to blossom about 2 months later. Bees love the blooms. This is NOT a xeric plant. It does NOT like to get dried out, needs moisture pretty often. Mine is about 2 years old and only gets to be about 3' tall. The blooms are about 8-9" across. The blooms are short-lived, they die daily.
