My earliest blooming lily (first week of May) in 2012, this demure species put on quite an eye-catching show with large scapes of pendent, saturated orange-red blooms. Flowers produced a light, pleasant but unusual fragrance if your nose is in the bloom.

A nice little reddish gem from East Asia. This is one of the earliest flowering Lilium species. Very easy to grow and can flower from seed after only one year so it's ideal for beginners. The flowers have an unusual and light scent.
