A very vigorous peony that does well everywhere I have planted it. The foliage is a lovely deep viridian that keeps its color. The bloom fades quickly into a paler shade but that makes the clump more interesting. If you just have room for one peony I would recommend this plant.

Coral Sunset is fantastic, nothing like I have ever seen in peonies. After a severe cold winter in which I had to cover the plant several times because it starts growing earlier than other peonies Coral Sunset is beautiful and it has spread so much in just a few years that it makes an impressive clump, if only it could bloom all summer, sigh.

"Paeonia 'Coral Sunset', (2-SD-PK) Hybrid Peony, (Wissing 1965), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium height, semi-double, coral pink petals, cupped, fades to apricot, early bloomer , Michigan Bloom Month 5c-6.

Vigorous grower. APS Gold Medal winner 2003, and Award of Landscape Merit 2009. Fade is somewhat drastic."
