Variegated Solomon's Seal is a nice choice for shady areas. Its taller, arched stems add a nice form and texture to the shade bed. It makes a nice background plant behind hostas. It spreads, but not invasively, so that each spring I can divide and move some to another area or share with friends. Its flowers are small and last a short time, so I consider it a foliage plant, whose value is its graceful form.
