A small succulent with purplish brownish, opposite leaves. Very frost tolerant, frost hardy down to at least 17 degrees f. Small tubular yellow flowers that form from terminal flower stalks. Each flower stalk may have anywhere from 2 flowers to 8+. Extremely easy to propagate from the leaves that fall off with the slightest touch, from seed, and from stem cutting. The plants are perennial, and after flowering, new stems grow from the base. Native to the Southern USA (Texas) and Northeastern Mexico.

Lenophyllum texanum is related to sedum and was listed originally as a sedum. They are distinguished from sedum by their terminal inflorescences, erect petals and opposite leaves.
It is a winter dormant succulent, and not very attractive in this time.
Many reports say that it is not winter/frost hardy, but it is growing outdoors, unprotected at the Plant Delights Nursery in zone 7b for about 8 years.
The genus of Lenophyllum contains about 8 species found in Texas and Northwestern Mexico.
Bright green when grown in lower light situations, showing bronze color in full sun.
