Wild Oats forms large colonies of widely spaced stems on moist soil in woods and coves throughout the eastern United States. Plants grow to about 1 foot tall and the arching stems are terminated by straw-yellow, bell-shaped flowers in mid-Spring. It is a good plant for naturalizing in good soil and shady areas.
