Garden savory, or in Bulgarian градинска чубрица, is an annual herb. The stem is straight, 30-45 cm high, four-sided, branched from the base. The opposing leaves are lanceolate to linear. The fruit of savory is dry. Summer savory blooms from June to August.
Summer savory is used against flatulence, and has spasmolytic, bactericidal, astringent, and hypotensive effects.
Garden savory is grown widely in gardens as a spice and remedy. In addition to growing in Bulgaria, it is found in southern Europe and the Mediterranean.
