This is one of my favorite Glossy Abelias. It is a hybrid with a bushy, somewhat spreading, multi-stemmed habit. It grows to 5-6 feet tall in my zone where it is planted in a protected area by the house. The small lavender-pink, funnel-shaped flowers are around 3/4" long with orange-yellow throats. This lovely Abelia flowers from the middle of summer well into fall. The dark green leaves turn purplish-bronze in autumn.

A hybrid between A. x grandiflora and A. shumannii introduced in 1911 by Edward Goucher of the United States Department of Agriculture.
