These productive tender snap beans are a longtime Southern favorite. Pick the pods at about 4" in length for snaps, great for canning or freezing. Or the plump white beans can be shelled or dried.

In my opinion, the best of the half runners. Tedious to pick and shell, but flavor rivals the best pole beans. Short thin runners form ball of yard-type bush, which, combined with their small size (4 inches), makes harvest more time consuming. They can only be harvested by hand, so little commercial appeal.
