The Scarlet Runner has been a wonderful addition to my garden, not only for the wonderful beans that can be eaten as a snap bean when young or as a shelled bean when mature, but also for the gorgeous display of deep red-orange blossoms. They have been very resistant to disease. The hummingbirds choose the scarlet runner blossoms for nectar above all else in the garden. I have given them a 20-foot trellis and they would even keep going higher. A very easy and productive plant.
