New Plants
One of the more innovative plant breeders and wholesalers of perennials is Terra Nova Nurseries. Their introductions include the sweet-smelling, white echinacea -- 'Fragrant Angel' -- as well as a great many heucheras and heucherellas. The Web site provides information about their introductions, including cultural information, as well as retail sources.

Vegetable Gardening Information
Although out-of-print, the National Gardening Association's Gardening: The Complete Guide to Growing America's Favorite Fruits & Vegetables (Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, 1986) is worth searching out in used book stores or on the Web. Although the varieties listed may be outdated, the growing information is not. The book is well illustrated, and there is comprehensive information on planning and caring for over 40 edibles. Numerous sidebars provide useful growing tips and methods.
