Favorite or New Plant

Burning Bush
For some intense red fall foliage in a shrub, plant the burning bush (Euonymus alatus). There are several species, including a smaller or dwarf form for limited space and rock gardens. Burning bush is an easy-to-grow shrub that prefers full sun for the best coloration of the foliage. Since some types can be invasive, look for varieties that are less so. Locate in well-drained soils and within view of a window. You'll want to enjoy the fall show while eating breakfast or lunch!

Clever Gardening Technique

Getting the Skunk Smell Out
Have you ever been sprayed by skunk perfume? How do you get rid of the odor on clothing or on the patio carpet? Here's an old-fashioned solution that my grandma used: Make a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Sponge the skunk-sprayed materials, or soak the clothing for about half an hour. Then wash or rinse in some warm water with detergent.
