Using Paper Wasps for Caterpillar Management in the Landscape
Using Paper Wasps for Caterpillar Management in the Landscape is a North Carolina State University Web site that provides helpful information on paper wasps and their beneficial role. It also shows how to build a simple structure for them to nest in. That way you choose where they are allowed to live in your landscape.

Purple Heart
Purple heart (Setcreasea pallida) may be one of the most versatile and resilient perennial plants in the landscape. Purple heart provides a deep purple color that is very useful in breaking up the sea of green in our gardens. It forms a nice ground cover but can also be used as an outstanding container plant with the stems trailing down over the sides. Purple heart is incredibly drought tolerant and resistant to insect and disease problems. It grows in full sun to considerable shade, but maintains its best color where light levels are good.
