The African Violet
The African Violet Handbook, by Tony Clements (David and Charles Publishers, 2003; $19.99), is a good starter book for learning how to grow African violets successfully. It covers plant care, pests, and diseases, and tips on displaying the plants in your home. A section on commonly asked questions is included, along with a listing of the popular cultivars to help you choose colors and varieties to grow.
