Clever Gardening Technique

Milk for Powdery Mildew
It appears our cupboards are a hidden arsenal for battling disease (and insects) on our plants. You've probably heard about using baking soda sprays for powdery mildew; milk sprays are also reputed to be effective. Mix one part milk and three parts water and spray on the foliage. My indoor rosemary is covered with a white blanket of mildew so I'm giving this a try.

Shows & Events

New England Spring Flower Show
Get your senses ready to experience a dose of spring at the 2007 New England Spring Flower Show, March 17 to 25, at the Bayside Expo Center in Boston. With the theme "Yes, You Can!" each garden landscape exhibit will feature an element that's sure to make visitors walk away saying, "Wow! I didn't know you could do that!" It promises to be a good opportunity to not only enjoy the blossoms and smell the good earth but also to gather ideas. For more info, visit: http://www.masshort.org/showpage2.asp?page=2_0.
