Clever Gardening Technique

Eliminate Those Pesky Flea Beetles
Tackle flea beetles, the scourge of the garden, with hot pepper-garlic spray. Smash six cloves of garlic (work outdoors where you won't mind the mess and smell) and add to a glass jar with a tablespoon of powdered or crushed red pepper and a quart of warm water. Cap and set in the sun to steep for a couple of days. Strain through cheesecloth and spray upper and undersides of the leaves, avoiding the hot, dry time of the day. Keep unused spray in the refrigerator.
