Twilight Hikes at Filoli
Bring your family for a walk in the woodlands by the light of the setting sun at Filoli Gardens. Nature education docents will lead evening twilight hikes this summer, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays -- June 20, July 25, and August 15; and Thursdays -- June 21, July 26, and August 16. Space is limited so advance registration is recommended. Cost: $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers, $1 for children ages 5 - 12. Clever Gardening Technique

Foil Corn Ear Worms
You can prevent corn earworms from ruining your crop by mixing Bacillus thuringiensis with molasses to use as a bait. When the tassels are just beginning to turn from green to gold, mix 1/4 teaspoon of Safer Caterpillar Killer with 1 cup molasses and 4 cups water. Spray or pour the bait around the base of each corn plant.
