Galveston calls, and birders answer, when FeatherFest happens April 3rd to 6th. Birding is great during the early migration, when a great mix of 200 species can be tallied. Nice gardens to visit in historic Galveston and plenty of events to celebrate spring birding make this event a great one for families. Web Finds

When you visit Firewise you'll see that most of the states in our region have communities that have been designated "firewise." That means they have trained and educated the public about building and planting to prevent or at least lessen the impact of wildfires. Check to see if your area has begun to meet this challenge, and if you can, take action.
