Arbor Day Foundation
The national Arbor Day Foundation Web site has more information than anyone can possibly absorb. There is information about how to celebrate with groups, how to get involved in community organizations, how to care for trees, how to identify trees, and how to make the earth a better place through stewardship. A must-see Web site for individuals, groups, and especially teachers.

Silver Whispers Stone Pine
Silver Whispers Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra 'Silver Whispers') is perfect for smaller landscapes. It is a densely shaped pine with white-striped dark green needles. It has 3-inch-long decorative violet-blue cones. Give the plant full sun and well drained soil, and it will add a dramatic accent to the winter landscape. It grows quite slowly, reaching about 12 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
