Chocolate Joe Pye Weed
Joe Pye is a mainstay for the fall garden, especially now that plant breeders are creating more compact and colorful varieties. 'Chocolate' Joe Pye (Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate') is especially striking, with rich, purple-brown foliage and creamy white flowers. It's growth is a little more contained that the native species, topping out at about 4 feet.
