'Gadzukes' Zucchini
Try something a little different with a garden standby like zucchini. 'Gadzukes' is a hybrid with dark green skin and lighter colored raised ridges. When the zucchini is sliced crosswise, the ridges create a star-shape. With 55 days to maturity, there's still time to grow and harvest squash in much of the Southwest. Seeds available through http://www.burpee.com.
