Favorite or New Plant

'Lady in Black' Calico Aster
This calico aster (Aster lateriflorus) is an airy, lavender-blue garden delight come autumn. The cultivar 'Lady in Black' is an attractive companion plant to the ninebark cultivar sold as Coppertina (Physocarpus opulifolius 'Mindia') and the fall foliage of lacecap hydrangeas. She self seeds generously, attracts butterflies and bees, and can be pruned to stagger bloom.
