National Sustainable Agricultural Information Service
National Sustainable Agricultural Information Service is a good web site to visit to learn more about sustainable agriculture and going "green." Besides organic farming information, there are tips on pest management, energy alternatives, water management, and raising livestock.

Favorite or New Plant

Pink Lenten Rose
The mule deer are back in abundance and browsing the yard. They don't seem to bother my new addition to the garden, the pink Lenten rose, Helleborus x ballardiae 'Pink Frost'. It was planted last fall in the semi-shady garden, with well-drained soil that still stays moist. The flowers are nice, with burgundy and whitish buds that open to light pink blooms maturing to a burgundy red.
