Virtual Plant Walks
Many of the college campuses in our region display interesting and unusual ornamental plantings. Now you can take a virtual plant walk around some of them. Part of the UConn Plant Database of Trees, Shrubs, and Vines, Plant Database lets you select virtual walks on the campuses of Connecticut College, University of Connnecticut, University of Massachusetts, University of Rhode Island, and University of Vermont. You can find information on the plants highlighted in the walks in the plant database, which you can browse by either common or Latin name, and you can search for plants based on specific attributes. Stroll online and then visit the campuses for a fun horticultural learning experience.
