Human Poisoning from Native and Cultivated Plants
Human Poisoning from Native and Cultivated Plants, Second Edition by James W. Hardin and Jay M. Arena (Duke University, 1995; $18) is an excellent reference for gardeners and anyone who spends time outdoors. The book is illustrated with detailed line drawings, clear plant and habitat descriptions, as well as describing which plant parts are poisonous. It takes the guesswork out of safe gardening, especially if there are children and pets nearby.
