Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
Toasted pumpkin seeds make a tasty and nutritious snack.
Begin by scooping out the seeds, washing them off, and placing them on a towel to drain. Then spread the seeds in a single layer on a cookie sheet and bake at 350F for about half an hour.
Although you can eat them plain, pumpkin seeds can also be flavored with various sauces. Try mixing together a quarter cup of tamari (soy sauce) and a tablespoon of oil in a conainer with a tightly-fitting lid. Remove the seed from the oven, pour them into the container with the sauce, cover it, and shake to coat the seeds. Then spread the seeds back out onto the sheet and back until crispy. Allow them to cool, and store in an airtight container.
