I found this plant growing near my potato beds. I couldn't bring myself to pull it up b/c it is (was) kind of pretty. I'd like to know more about it because I proudly grow wildflowers that are sometimes classified as weeds. Thank you!

It is pretty! My first thought was it reminded me of Common Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) but I'm not really sure.

@plantladylin. Good morning Lin, thank you for looking. After inspecting several Boneset pics, I think the leaves look slightly different (shape & veins.) So close though....Any more thoughts? I tried the plant ID app I have back in the summer and had no luck. Maybe they've developed better apps by now. I'm not going to pull it - curious to see if it sets seed over the winter. I might move it though....the Boneset is apparently most commonly found around wet marshy areas with some shade. The location where I found this plant is normally quite dry, in un-amended clay and in full Sun. So that was another reason I thought maybe this isn't Boneset.

Maybe @Stone can help?

Confused Shrug! Thank You!

One of my faves.
Compare with eupatorium serotinum.
Late Boneset (Eupatorium serotinum)

Next year... Be sure to smell the wonderfully scented flowers.
