I'm setting the number of tickets at 50
As you know, in the lightening swap, this is a 24 hr swap to dib all your tickets.

Everyone starts with 50 tickets and then earns 1 ticket for every 2 that you sell.

See you at the swap!!

Looking forward to it! I've been looking the plants I'm not familiar with up on google and getting an idea if I think I could actually grow them so I can narrow my wish list down, but I'm so optimistic...

I learn a lot by doing these swaps just for the reason Barbara mentioned above. Learning about new plants.

Swap night tonight!!
Looking forward to it!

Kd would love to hear more about your daycare garden group! Is this the first yr you're doing this? How much space do you have...and what are you growing? Flowers? Veggies? Or both?

Erica, your message made me smile. Happy Dance is good...and esplly needed in winter!

Barbara (and Leslie): EXACTLY!! One of the reasons I love the swaps so much is learning about new plants I dodnt know about and/or the ability to get seeds to try new things. I li,e to push the enve, open sometimes and grow things that are not really for my zone. Keeps life knteresting!

kdlund, Have you heard of a pizza garden? You grow tomatoes, basil, onions, garlic and other things you'd like on a pizza. Kids love those.

I do several garden projects. One is with a daycare group where I teach the kids what home grown food is, and how to grow your own food. Funny how many kids have no idea where their food comes from. One gal age 8 just could not get it into her head that potatoes grow in the ground. We have about 1/2 acre to grow on. I provide the seeds and the tools to grow. I provide the tomato plants as well as pepper plants, and all the seeds. I also grow tomatoe plants and give seeds and plants to some of the adult foster centers around here and I plant tomatoes and cucumbers peppers for the elderly in senior Apartment buildings and senior homes.
I love doing it for them all

Great swap, everyone! THANKS for the goodies you all listed, I got a number of new things, including my #1 pick. Someone scooped up my #2 and #3 picks, but C'est la vie...I know they will be lovingly grown, just elsewhere.

I'm going to bow out tonight. my stomach's a little 'off'. I'm HOPING I'm not coming down with the stomach bug that was going around my office last week. I will check back before the swap closes. If anyone wants me, message me, and I will get the notice via email.

Have fun if you still have more tickets and remember - you have 24 hours to finish spending your tickets if you garner any more; from the time the swap started for you.

A request: Please remember to go to your swap profile and fill in your name/address for this swap for mailing seeds back to you. If you can send a mailing label with your name/address or both printed out clearly for me to tape to your package, all the better.

That's all I can think of at the moment!

I felt just like a kid during an Easter egg hunt...picking up seeds and throwing them in my computer basket! Again....so much fun. Got plenty to keep me busy...for a long, long time, lol! Val, hope you get to feeling better, thanks for giving us another chance to trade.

I got 2 of my top 4 and lots of other fun things plus things to share in my community and the gardening program for the mentally challenged kids at my son's high school. Donations to that program would be very welcome. You can send seeds to them when you send in your swap seeds. Smiling

Thanks all, feeling better this am, so guess it was just a stomach upset and not a bug - YAY! I got a busy weekend and cant be "down" and out of commission.

Barbara - loved your analogy to the Easter Egg Hunt -- exactly! :D

Leslie, if there particular seeds you're looking for your son's garden, let me know. I'm sure you've gotten some in the swaps, but would like to fill in the holes for you with varieties you might not have, tho many of mine have been up for swap already this fall.

KD, If you need more seeds, I'd be happy to send...let me know how I can help as well!
I have more than enough to share

Hope everyone had a good swap. I'll be watching til it finishes up tonight, tho everyone's probably done most of (if not all) your "damage".

Looking forward to "seeing" you all over on the Feb. Flower swap if you're interested. Then I think I'm done for the this winter season. Spring's right around the corner, right!?

They are saying big snow storm for us Sunday...and then dipping into the single digits so everything's going to freeze and be a mess. Stay warm!

Hi Val,
Thanks for the offer. It's my son's school, though not him. They need things they can grow during the school year or plant and leave alone for the summer and tend again in the fall. They have several raised beds. We had very generous traders last year that gave wonderful things, mostly veggies so I'd say flowers if you have extra. Thanks!
