Hey everyone!

Could somebody help me with this little booger? I propagated The Twins from a leaf my friend gave me, I separated them from the leaf 3 months ago but they are soooo wrinkly... Did I over or underwater them? Thank you!

They look a little dehydrated, but not too bad. How often and how much are you watering?

I never separate leaves from baby rosettes when I do that kind of propagation. The leaf will die on its own when it's ready. You deprived the baby rosettes of a source of water while they were growing roots.

If it is growing indoors, it is not getting optimal light conditions. That may account for its somewhat dormant state. But as long as it is staying firm, no other mushy part, it should be fine. Just give it time. It needs much warmth and light to encourage more root production that will enable it to get more moisture.

Don't be tempted to overwater even if it looks that dry. It is still somewhat dormant. Try to increase bright light around it and continue to keep warm. It should perk up a bit more towards Spring.

When it was small, I watered every morning for the roots to form, since then, every week. Mostly when the soil is really dry. It is near my heating, so the soil dries quickly. I'm sure the light is not enough for it, it was not sunny for 2 weeks now. I hate winter... I hope for an early spring Smiling

Thank you for your answers!

You can add some grow lights to help increase your indoor light levels.

Thank you everyone for the help! I potted them into smaller, clay pots and watered them more frequently. They look much, much better!
