Hello,

I've had these aloes for over 20 years. They are all from the same mother plant of an unknown type. Due to a situation outside of my control, they were without water for about 4-5 months just over a year ago. I had been trying to nurse them back to health, however I recently experienced a house fire and these guys were exposed to a lot of smoke, however they weren't exposed to any extreme temperatures. It's been about a week since the smoke exposure and they seem to be taking a turn for the worse. I tried to clean the soot off as best as I could immediately after the fire however.

-They are in plastic containers, with drain holes. -Roughly 1.5:1 ratio Promix HP and perlite -RO water with seaweed extract at 50% label strength once soil is dry for 3-5 days. Soil almost gets dusty before I water. I could be doing this part wrong? -Watered lightly, 100-200mL perhaps. pH to 6.5. -Soil was recently swapped, so no nutrient feeding at the moment -Under 90 real watts of "blurple" LED, approx 6000lux at each plant (no PPFD meter). I had them closer but tips started to burn. -12/12 light cycle -21-23C at roughly 40-50% RH

Most plants were showing new growth before the smoke, but unknown how smoke has impacted that now. Not sure if plants are in a winter dormant cycle. Some had shown root rot in the past, but it was cut off, and new roots have developed since. Most of the outer aloe "leaves" are showing curling inwards, but still standing upright. They were running at 20% RH for most of winter, so that could have been a factor thats just starting to impact them now.

Not really sure what to do. Going to try them in the winter sun for now, getting about 11000lux now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I would like to keep these around for another couple decades..

I have seen worse. I think your over doing it. They look like they will respond. Give them some time. I killed more plants giving them too much care.
