i walk past this tree every day on the way to work, which has been growing out of the person's backyard fence and i have become very curious as to what it is.

in spring it was covered in small flowers (either white or pink, i can't remember now). the attached photo was taken a month ago, which was mid-summer here.

once i picked a fruit and opened it but couldn't tell what it was (no photo unfortunately). i think it was some sort of stone fruit.

any ideas would be helpful. i'm interested to know what it is, and maybe one day i'll take a clipping of some of the extra growth! thank you 🌿

Maybe a plum or nectarine.
