Useful to whom? I would , given space have both food and flowers. The folks that have the space need the flowers for the pollinators, as well as the food. I still manage a few tomato plants, and make sure I have flowers that suit the hummers and the bees.

This is the most vacuous thought yet. Gardens originally began to grow food for survival, not to mention hops for beer, and medicinal purposes. Some people still survive with the aid of a garden and depend on the harvest. That doesn't mean these gardens do not provide joy but they also provide sorrow. I feel humiliated for who ever published this on this website. I cringe when i see it here.
