This bearded was growing at my childhood home in Walnut Creek, California over 50 years ago. I saved some when we sold the house, but have always wanted to know more about it.

Welcome! jtkatec

Do you have any photos of it closer up, and front on to the beards? There are a whole lot of pink historic iris, but with a few more pictures someone on here could probably point you in the right direction. Smiling

Welcome to the forum. I looked at the data base pictures of Quaker Lady and think your pictured iris, while being older, is a little more modern than Quaker Lady. The falls look wider.

I have these 3 Noids that lost their name tags. I wish I knew the name of each of them bc they are prettier than some of my named irises. :(

Here is another iris that lost its tag that I would love to find a name for. I have it planted in 2 different areas and in both places the bloom has 4 falls.

Welcome! jtkatec if i haven't already responded.

hope you find a name for it, so you can find a named one to grow along side of yours to compare. there's so many look-alikes that it's almost impossible to 'name' your lovely from pictures alone.

jtkatec, there are some that are similar to yours, and I think from the same era.. Look at Grand Canyon, Mulberry Rose, and Oriental Glory... They may have similar breeding or background that can lead you to a possible answer. Yours has that purple streak down the center of the falls that these have.
Also check out Historiciris.org
If you go through their pictures, you may find a match..

A full frontal, clearer picture would be helpful in narrowing it down.

The middle one of your first picture. There are two introductions of James Gibson in the 70s, Anon and Beyond. Beyond seems to be the more finished flower and I believe that is your picture

These are 2 links to Three Oaks. I don't think that this is it.

Could it be:
Laurel Oak?
