Hello! I am looking for recommendations for a perennial vine for a large pot. The pot is about 4 feet tall and 18 inches in diameter. I'd like to put an evergreen flowering vine in it. Full sun. Would a clematis work? Any other thoughts or advice? Thanks.

Clematis like " their heads in the sun and their feet in the shade!"
If the whole container stays in full sun, I am not sure that a Clematis is the ideal choice.
They prefer and shaded, cooler root ball that stays moist, it won't like to go dry.

is Mandevilla evergreen for you? Do you have winter frost?
Plant it and they will come.

What about Jasmine or a wood rose (Merremia tuberosa) vine?

I recommend sweet potato vines. You get beautiful flowers, interesting leaves, and good food!

We do get some cold temps and winter frost but it might be protected enough for Mandevilla. As I think about it, it is probably too hot and dry for clematis. We have lots of jasmine so it would be nice to have something else. Merremia tuberosa looks interesting! I'll do some research. Thanks everyone!
