Are Border Patch caterpillars a threat to my roses? They are in my pastures by the tens of thousands right now. I am "pretty sure" that's what these are.

I haven't seen them on the roses. Just want to know if I should do anything to prevent a possible problem.

Thanks in advance

Ewwwwwwwwww!!! I have a phobia about caterpillars. That was so disgusting. I would imagine that they would eat your rose leaves. But, I don't know for sure. Tens of thousands!!!! I would lose my mind.

Ah, you have young critters there. Young ones are gregarious and tend to group together. Mature adults tend to be solitary. Their primary food is plants in the sunflower, ragweed, crownbeard and cocklebur family. I think your roses are safe from them.
