to the forums @oliversf! As a transplanted to the tropics san franciscan, i would say "should we go to the Golden Gate Park rose garden, or should we go over to Oliver's house instead?" This is an impressive and beautiful collection of roses

Thank you guys! I have a tiny garden. The backyard is around 100 sf, half of which is concrete. That leaves me about 50 sf plus a narrow isle around the fence to plant roses. I plant them quite close to each other. They might turn into a solid 50 sf rose jungle 5 years from now. Lol lol well I guess I just have to prune them hard.

Am a newbie so no secrets... but I do fertilize a lot. Coffee ground, fruit peels, soy milk ground, chicken /cow manure, fish emulsion... you name it. I use fish emulsion weekly or once every two weeks. I figured since all the roses are newish, I just buy new ones if I burned them (Ruthless I know). But so far so good. 😂

I like that 'Gentle Hermione', but if it's got to be from D. Austin's then it'll be spring of 2020, before I ever even see it !

That's how mine is going to be , dense. I have a small garden and I already have 70 fruit trees, most of them are espaliered of course, same with the roses. It's survival of the fittest for the roses.
