Hi everyone, I bought one at a nursery today. It's a healthy plant in a hanging basket. The soil looks like regular potting soil with some perlite mixed in. I have it outside at the moment, and I was wondering should I change the mix to fine grade orchid bark or should I just leave it in the mix it's currently in? Thanks

Hi Cameron, Hi Cameron, If your new Cabbage Palm Fern (Phlebodium aureum) seems happy and healthy 'd leave it in it's original container with the soil intact and just allow it to get acclimated to it's new surroundings. No need to change anything.

Thanks so much Lin. Your pictures made me want one and when I saw it at a nursery today, I just had to get it. Rolling on the floor laughing I'll leave it alone so it can get acclimated. Thumbs up

LOL, it's a native here in Florida and we have them growing on palm trees in our yard. I planted some in a hanging basket a few years ago and left it on the screened porch for the people that we sold our house to last month.

Oh wow, you're lucky to have such neat plants growing in your area. The challenge will probably be bringing indoors and keeping it happy.
