A high spot of the garden year is when the roses bloom. We had record moisture this spring and mild temps. My son spread some balanced garden fertilizer in the beds. The bushes looked fabulous and my anticipation was growing. Then the deer which are habituated in my area started feasting on the buds and the new growth.......a gardeners disaster. As spring progressed the deer found other treats and the roses set more bloom. Now my rose gardens are just glorious . Here are some roses that I am enjoying.......You are probably a patient person if you look at all of these.....Maybe more later. I need to dig up some ambition and add them to the data base.......
I was *this* close to ordering it during the RU summer sale but I didn't realize it could get that pink so instead I got Anna Pavlova. I'll be adding it back to my must have list for next year.
Paul, what a delightful treat for all of us. They are all beautiful! Love the colors in Tuscan Sunrise and the charming simplicity and subtle colors of the Dog rose.

When I bought Cesar Chavez it had a tag calling it My Beloved. ZuZu let me know that was an advertising ploy by the former well thought of Jackson and Perkins. It didn't sell when introduced as Cesar Chavez so they named it My Beloved and reintroduced it as My Beloved. Cesar Chavez is the correct name. A dear friend bought and planted it as My Beloved to honor her deceased Husband. She was disappointed to learn that it wasn't.
