Hello everyone,

I have a Purple Basil (Ocimum basilicum 'Purple Delight') (or something similar to it). Yesterday I harvested the leaves and noticed a stem that was bored out at a node. Everything above was, obviously, dead. I looked around trying to find the critter that enjoyed the basil but couldn't find him, or her.

So far I only noticed this one bore in the basil plant.

Any idea which pest might have done this based on the season and my area? Any clue will be helpful in keeping an eye out. I'm all ears!

I'm in the Miami, FL area.
