If you want to have some of your Plant List private, you can now do so. It is a category based system and it works like this:

Create a new (or edit an existing) a category. Under "Privacy settings" you can choose to make it open or private.

If you choose private, then only you will be able to see that category and anything under it. You can test this by creating such a category, populate that category with plant entries along with your notes. Then logout and go view your list as a visitor and the items in your private category shouldn't show up at all.

Would it also be possible to have both public and private comments on the same list item?

Not currently. I think in the future we will support having the same plant exist in multiple categories and at that point what you're looking for will be supported.

Dave it is working great. Could you have it so there is another option in the drop down box.
Have
Want
Used to Have

Can we add to the drop down, so the comment box will open. Some of these I don't have and don't want. : )

I'm afraid not, Lynn, but since this is a private list, it doesn't really matter what you select since nobody but you sees it.
