July 2nd 2019 10:30 AM I had pains in my chest that made it hard to draw a breath with out extreame stabbing pains.

I tell Kare to take me to ER so she gets ready and we go. You have to sign in and decribe why your there.
Chest pains over rules every thing else in line so you in a sense took cuts.
You also do not walk any longer, your wheeled in a chair into a room and given a nitro pill for under your tongue and full dose asprin to take with water as they are listening to your heart.
They wheel in a portable exray machine and take a couple pictures. They also draw blood to test. All this time they have you hooked up to monitors for blood pressure heart beat and more.

At 2:00 PM they determine I am not in any intmint danger, but they want to keep me in the hospital so they can control what I am doing before a stress test the next day. I am wheeled to a room at 3:30 PM, had no sooner got there when I was told a taxi would come to get me for a CTA test. At the test sight they determined the IV that had been installed in ER was to small for their use. After much pokeing and prodding they got one big enough in my left fore arm. the test was ran and I was wheeled back to my room.

A doctor came in at 6:00PM and I didn't like him as he rambled on not ever making eye contact with me. Said I would have the stress test early in the morning.

So I am in a room all by my self till 1:30 AM, but I had not been asleep as I am starveing. Hospital had put me on heart condition food for the evening meal. A small spoon of this and another small fork of that. Kare would not despite my pleading get me a juicy burger some place like a bar burger to take the hunger pains off.

The day shift nurse came in at 6:30AM and said they had me in a heart healthy diet so if I wanted she would get me some real coffee and not that decalf crap and talked to much I bet the doctors would have said. Told me all my heart test came back at 100% great the chart said when she brought me the real coffee.

At 7:30 breakfast came, Yuk tiny dry pancakes with a tiny bit of blueberry sauce on them and turkey sausage.
At 8:00 AM another doctor came in and he seemed OK and would look me in the eye. Said that my heart condition was 100% for a 72 year old man. But I had some empzima and I needed to make an appointment at his office to have more test done. Also told me I was going to get released.

D'Oh! NOW I want to point out I am a type 2 diabetic I have a hand full of pills I need to take in the evening and a half a hand full in the morning. I also do two types of insulin a fast actiong novalog on a slideing scale before meals if my readdings are above 150. I also take a slow acting inslin Levemir in the morning at 100 units and 100 units in the evening 12 hours apart.

I got none of that in the hospital they used what they wanted as far as insulin and no pills at all. My blood sugar was out the freaking windows for 3 days trying to get back to my normal readings Sighing! .

So back to the doctors, make a appointment to my family doctor and went. Had a temp of 99 so she put me on some seroids for Pneumonia for 5 days.

The appointment had also been made at the pulmonary doctors, First appontment the AZZ HOLE purposely belly bumped me in the hall as I was entering the exam room. I didn't play those games in high school or the army and even at work. I told Kare yesterday as I am going to take a breathing test if he belly bumps me again I am going to rip his head ****ING off and spit down his neck.
He didn't show up so he was safe from my rath.

I was supposed to do a pet scan Tuesday at 4:00 PM. could only eat protien till 10:00 AM and only do my slow insulin.
I still crashed and had a blood readding of 65 at 2:00 PM coald sweats and shakes so bad I couldn't walk with out hanging on to some thing.
The pet scan was cancled and a new appointment set for 6:00 AM much better blood wise.

In the mean time I am sweating some thing awful in this HEAT AND HUMIDITY, come on winter. I can put on more cloths to stay warm but I am already down to my thong and sitting in fromt of the fan.

You explained why I hate to go to the doctor or hospital. If you are not sick when you go they make you sick, or make up a sickness so they can run a test.....Got to get that money......in the end if you are sick they just kill you.

Glad to hear it, Al. Smiling I hope you have everything under control.

Have you considered a continuous glucose monitor and/or an insulin pump? They make glucose control much better. My husband's Medicare plan doesn't pay much for his pump (he has an expensive one) but it covers the glucose monitor pretty well. It might be something to discuss with your doctor. Good luck to you.

Pet scan results and breathing test results all today.

Breathing 2 points below normal.

Pet scan showed a dark area in the upper lob of one lung, not likely to be cancer. Probably wood chips from my shredding and chipping with out a mask.

Getting a ct scan soon and will see doctor in 3 months.

I am covered by the VA for my diabetic supplies. Not much chance of getting any modern equipment of meds.

That's a bummer. But Medicare isn't go great on that, either. Our out of pocket expenses are HIGH for his pump, insulin, test strips, etc. We're spending a lot of our retirement $ on medical costs. Shrug!
