My first thought was Jimson Weed but I did't think it lived in such cold climates. So as Lin pointed out, two possibilities.

It does indeed look like either Datura or possibly Solanum. Apparently Jimson Weed (Datura stramonium) is found in Michigan, as is Bittersweet Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) and there may be others.
