I was adding a photo I had taken this morning of an Echinacea and noticed a nice photo taken by someone else. Scanning all of the beautiful pictures of the flower I came across a reverse of the same photo added by someone else. They both noted that they had permission to use the photo but from different sources. I only use my own original photos but am curious if this is allowed.

If permission is explicitly provided by the copyright holder, then yes, it is allowed to upload photos to the database. Normally only the mods and plant admins do that, though.

Regarding the flipped/mirrored image - we prefer not to have duplicate images in the database, so one of them should be removed. At the time it was probably wasn't noticed when the second image was added.

Which Echinacea and I will take a look at it. I have noticed a few pictures that say given permission by some growers where the picture actually belong to the original grower.
