You have an outbreak of armored scale. They have mouthparts that pierce the tissues of, in this case a Phalaenopsis, and suck out the juice of their hosts. The
sticky residue is because the juices of the plant contain sugars, nectar kind of. That should rinse off with water.
If you take a cotton ball and dip it in 70% Isopropyl alcohol and run it up and down the spike between your fingers, that will remove them.
For others, run the swab all over the leaves and flowers to kill the scale insects.
Make sure you rinse off all the alcohol with plain water. It can dessicate plant tissues!!
