Grows in southern Ontario like a weed in my garden. Thick roots underground, almost like a perennial. Basil smell and taste but sort of weak. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks,
Rob

Looks more like a mint to me.

Looked carefully at anise hyssop leaves and mine don't match. My leaves have really jagged edges, almost like little fingers coming off the sides.

Have looked at mint but no luck finding a leaf match.
